5 Breakfast Recipes to Try In Your Smoky Mountain Cabin

What breakfast foods should you make when staying in your Smoky Mountain cabin?

We have the answer! If you’re going to come stay in the Smokies then you should also fully embrace the local cuisine. Go out and try local restaurants but don’t forget to try making some of it yourself. Here are five recipes you should try while you’re here!

1. Pancakes with a Twist

Nothing can beat a good pancake. Except for adding in something extra! Sprinkle in some lemon zest, fold in some blueberries, or mix some peaches into the batch. This will put your breakfast over the top.

2. Fried Apple Dumplings

You can’t visit the Smokies and not try fried apple dumplings. While we also recommend making a trip to some local restaurants that are experts at making these, don’t forget to test them out yourselves as well.

3. Biscuits and Gravy

Nothing says “Southern” like biscuits and gravy. Mix up a batch of biscuits and find the best recipe of gravy you can. But be prepared, once you try them you can’t go back. This is one dish you’ll be making for the rest of your life.

4. Breakfast Burritos

Breakfast burritos are perfect for the morning right before a hike or a more active day. They are packed with protein and everything you need to have a good day. Put some eggs, bacon or sausage, veggies, and your preferred sauce in a tortilla and you’ll have a perfect breakfast.

5. Cinnamon Rolls

If you have some extra time or a slow morning, making cinnamon rolls is the way to go. You can buy cinnamon rolls in a can but they can’t compare to rising your own dough and whipping up your own filling.

Each of these breakfasts are perfect for your trip to the Smokies. If you’re looking for a place to stay with a fully stocked kitchen check out these options here.
