However, finding a vacation spot that caters to your four-legged family member can be a challenge. Even if you find a hotel that allows pets, your beloved dog may end up cooped-up while you are out exploring.

Fortunately, the Smoky Mountains are a haven for pet lovers. At Diamond Mountain Rentals, we offer a variety of pet-friendly Gatlinburg cabin rentals, conveniently located near popular attractions and dog-friendly activities, so you and your pup can have a blast on vacation together!

While you are out and about, participating in activities throughout Gatlinburg, your dog should remain on a leash at all times. For your added convenience, we provide a crate at each of our pet-friendly cabins, so that if you decide to let your dog rest while you explore, you can be assured they are safe, comfortable, and secure.

If you are planning a Smoky Mountain vacation with your pet, check out these activities that you and your pup may enjoy together!

1. Explore The Village Shops

Located in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg, The Village Shops are a collection of unique specialty stores and eateries. The outdoor areas around the shops are perfect for taking your pet for a walk. Some shops may allow pets inside the store, but this is up to the discretion of the shop owner. You may even find water bowls for dogs placed outside some of the shops.

2. Visit a Distillery

Moonshine or whiskey tasting is a very popular activity in Gatlinburg, and some of the most famous distilleries are pet-friendly! Listen to music, relax, and sample some drinks, all with your pup by your side at Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery aka “The Holler” or at Sugarlands Distilling Company

3. Ride the Gatlinburg Sky Lift

Take a fun ride on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift which takes you 1,800 ft up Crockett Mountain! Enjoy the spectacular mountain views with your furry best friend by your side, then together explore all that Gatlinburg SkyPark has to offer.

4. Take a Hike

Dogs are permitted in specified areas of the park only, as long as they remain on a leash. Dog-friendly areas include campgrounds, picnic areas, paved roads and two walking paths: the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail. 5. Take advantage of Doggywood

Although partaking in activities with your pets is ideal, it’s not always possible.
